CONSENT
Engaging in partner acrobatics involves trust, adrenaline, physical touch and some big emotions such as fear and excitement.
Spin Circus is committed to making sure APAC remains a safe environment for everyone.
When it comes to acrobatics, everyone has the right to say no to a skill - but sometimes (especially in a festival or group situation), saying no can be hard because of things like peer pressure and your own desire (or ego) to do a skill.
If it’s not an excited ‘yes’ = it’s a no
If it’s a ‘maybe’ = it’s a no
If its a ‘um I don’t know’ = it’s a no.If you do ask someone to do a skill and they say no, please don’t take it personally - there are many factors as to why someone might not want to train and that’s okay.
SAFETY
APAC offers a huge range of workshops and it’s important to know your limits and what your body is capable of to avoid injury. Ego lifting or pushing yourself when you’re exhausted is a one way ticket to an injury so please prioritise your rest and recovery.
The night time jams are a popular time for people to try new tricks and hit some big skills. Making sure you’re staying warm (as the night gets progressively cooler) and not attempting large skills that you have zero experience in will help keep you injury free.
The jams tend to start with daylight and progress into night time, so be aware of your surroundings as it gets darker.
